Covid 19 is a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus. It can be very contagious and spread quickly. Covid 19 more often causes Respiratory symptoms that can feel like a cold, flu or pneumonia. Most people with Covid 19 may experience mild or server symptoms. Symptoms may present it self 2-14 days after being in contact with an infected person.
Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headaches, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
Covid 19 spread when an infected person breaths out droplets that contains the virus, other people may breathing this particles or they may land in the eyes, nose and mouth. The particles may also contaminate the surfaces and when touched we can transfer them into our eyes, nose and mouth. It can also be spread even when you are not showing any symptoms.
Some people are more at risk than others. People with weakened immune system due to underlying medical conditions or because they receive immune suppressive medication or treatment.
STEPS TAKEN TO KEEP CLIENTS SAFE
Presenting questionnaire are completed upon call ahead to help identify if there is a concern. when required staff will down full (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment. Gloves N9 mask Gowns and protective eyewear.
SELF SCREENING FOR STAFF
Every staff will take an antigen Covid test and when deemed necessary a PCR test, temperature monitoring and documentation. A pre screening questionnaire before start of shift.
